Dedication of Eden Garden Orthodox Cemetery – A dream come true

The Orthodox Churches in Chicago always dreamed about an Orthodox Cemetery. During the Episcopal visit, the Supreme Head of Malankara Orthodox Church, His Holiness Moran Mor Baselios Marthoma Paulose II has laid the foundation of an Orthodox cemetery. On Nov 8, 2020, Hoodhosh Eetho Sunday, when the Church is celebrating the Dedication as per Liturgical calendar, the priests of all the 4 Churches in Chicago, came together and dedicated the Eden Garden Orthodox Cemetery. This is a big dream of the first generation of Orthodox Christians who came to Chicago. Honorable priests Rev. Fr. Raju Daniel, Rev. Fr. Ham Joseph, Rev. Fr. Abi Chaco and Dn. George Poovathur lead the dedication prayer. St. Thomas Orthodox Church Trustee Koshy George, Senior Members and members from sister parishes were present at the occasion. The Cemetery is a dream come true for all Orthodox Christians, who love and care about the tradition of our Church.
